If you’re interested in playing, please bring your full registration fee of $72 (per player) to the field. This includes both field fee and air for the whole weekend, and we’ll be accepting cash or checks made out to Bear Claw Paintball. Paint sales will be handled at the field’s pro shop. If you’re interested in bringing a camper, RV, or if you need an electrical/water hookup for any reason, please reserve a spot on Bear Claw’s website. The RV spots are very limited so act quickly!

The Invasion of Sicily: Weak Underbelly will be a reinactment of the Allied invasion of Sicily. Originally codenamed Operation Husky, this battle was a major World War II campaign in which the Allies took Sicily from the Axis (Italy and Nazi Germany). It was a large scale amphibious andairborne operation, followed by six weeks of land combat. More information on Wikipedia.

We’re not quite sure what they’re cooking up over there, but you can definitely expect a beach landing!

The game is titled Hunt for the Truth, and is presented by North Metro Paintball. Two teams battle for posession of Biblical artifacts over the course of the day — think paintball meets Indiana Jones!

We will be open for player registration at 9:30 AM. Play will be from 12:00 to 5:30.

This will be a Field Paint Only event! We have lowered the price of our Spectrum paint to $40 per case of 2000 rounds for this event.

Unbelievably, our final count for the weekend was 92 paintball warriors ready to rock!

This time, our battle began on Friday—with the rain. Just as on September 15, 1950, monsoon season was upon us. A constant barrage of heavy rain dampened our clothes as well as our spirits.

On Saturday morning, we were awoken by the sound of pea-sized hail. Fortunately the rest of the day was mostly clear skies, despite talk of cutting the game early.

Nitro (Red, South Korea) waged war on the yellow team (North Korea). Yellow on red. We left our blood, our sweat, and our tears on that field.

We fought valiantly, but were eventually cornered at our own base. Unfortunately, the Yellow team ultimately took the upper hand on Sunday, leaving the game spread at nearly 1,000 points.

That’s not to say we didn’t come home the victor, however. I think we all know Mario, the Godfather, well enough by now to realize that winning isn’t everything. The camraderie, sportsmanship, camping, and good times are best parts of these events, something that we all enjoyed this weekend.

From the entire Nitro family to every one who fought alongside us in the pouring rain with foggy goggles and wet socks, we are proud of you. You were an excellent example of the spirit of the game.

That, and some damn good paintball!

If you couldn’t make it to this game, don’t stress: our next Bear Claw event is in October, and there are a handful of other local events between then and now. Start planning now!

T-shirts will be passed out at Bear Claw on Friday, May 1st. Please make sure to bring your money! If you ordered a shirt but can’t make the game, we’ll hold on to it for you until the next time you’re at Nitro.

If you missed the deadline, don’t panic! We will be printing another round in a couple of months for the next game!

If you’d like to order one for yourself, please let us know how many, what size, and if you want long or short sleeves. We will be putting the order in after we close on Sunday, April 19, so you must let us know if you want one by then.

Shirts will cost $10 each. Long sleeves are $2 extra. Odd sizes (anything other than S-XL) are $3 extra. If you’d like your name on the back, it’s $5 extra — make sure you tell us what name you’d like (nothing rude or profane!)!
