Lionel Messi Regrets Missing Hong Kong Match

Lionel Messi missing out on a soccer match in Hong Kong? Yeah, turns out he’s feeling pretty bummed about it.

Missed Opportunity

Messi, who’s been playing for Inter Miami in the MLS, was all set to hit the field for a friendly match against a Hong Kong XI. But guess what? He didn’t get to play, and fans were not happy about it. Messi says it’s because of an injury, but he really wanted to be out there kicking the ball.

Expressing Regret

In a chat with reporters, Messi opened up about how disappointed he was to miss the game.

Huge Fanbase

Messi’s got a massive fan following in action during Inter Miami’s preseason tour. The match in Hong Kong drew a sellout crowd of 40,000 fans, but things got sour when Messi didn’t make an appearance.

They booed, jeered, and even demanded refunds for their tickets. Even the Hong Kong government was “disappointed” that Messi didn’t get to play.

Medical Advice

Inter Miami’s manager, Gerardo “Tata” Martino, later explained that Messi and his former teammate Luis Su├írez stayed on the bench on the advice of medical staff.

Looking Ahead

Now, the team is in Tokyo for the next leg of their preseason tour. They’re gearing up to face Vissel Kobe, a Japanese side, on Wednesday. Messi’s hoping to bounce back and play in this match.

Hope for the Future

Despite the Hong Kong setback, Messi’s still hopeful. He understands why fans are upset but hopes that Inter Miami will get another chance

Up in the Air

As for whether Messi will play against Vissel Kobe, he’s not entirely sure yet. But he’s feeling better and really wants to get back out there on the field.

So yeah, it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster for Messi and the fans, but here’s hoping he gets back in action soon!
